health.jpg If you heard a bad storm was headed your way, would you know what to do?  If your power went out for several days, or you had to care for a sick loved one, would you have everything you need? If you had to evacuate and leave your home, would you be ready? Most Americans would have to answer “No.”  The American Red Cross has done some research which shows that only about 12 percent of Americans are reasonably ready for a disaster.  That means that the majority of us have to do more to get prepared.

Today ForestEthics and the Dogwood Alliance, nonprofits committed to responsible forestry, issued their third annual “Green Grades” office supply report card.  I’m proud to say FedEx Office got an A-, the best grade in the business.According to the report: greengrades.jpg

On August 4, 2009, Louisville, Ky., posted new records for the city, but not ones anyone was striving to achieve. On that day, the city and surrounding areas were drenched with record-setting rain fall, flooding homes, cars and public buildings.Without an ark to rescue them, more than 500 dogs, cats and other animals at Metro Animal Services, were evacuated to drier grounds of the Kentucky Fair and Exposition. Sadly, 11 animals died when the facility was flooded. dogs in tub for blog.JPG

“The City of Champions” proved to be a fitting location for Team FedEx at the National Truck Driving Championships. Saturday morning began with the announcement of the top three finishers in each class. FedEx scored big with 10 finalists in six of the nine classes including sweeps of 3-Axle and Step Van. The finalists took one last crack at mastering the course before the final order was announced. FedEx walked away with four national champions: Don Logan-3-Axle, Mark McLean-Twins, Troy Swenson – 5-Axle Sleeper, David Thompson-Step Van. NTDCWinnerGroup.jpg
