My Personal Experience with Teach for America Week

Tomorrow's leaders are today's children, which is why FedEx is committed to investing both time and resources into educating children and supporting causes such as Teach for America.  At FedEx Office, education is equally as important, which led the company to introduce a program specifically designed for educators last year.  Through the FedEx Office Educators Savings programs, teachers and educators nationwide are entitled to a 15 percent discount on all printing services.  Our goal is to be a reliable resource for educators who are forming our future young leaders.

Why I Teach for America: McKenzie Byrd

Some days when I wake up, like everyone else, I “snooze” the alarm and pull the covers tight around my body—trying to keep all the energy and comfort of a good night’s sleep for just a couple minutes longer.  As I lay there trying to capture the feeling of security and warmth of my room, I cannot for the life of me stop thinking about the students I have to get up and teach.  I want to stay in bed.

FedEx Delivers to CASS

Each year the Phoenix Call Center adopts a shelter or affiliate of the United Way organization during the holiday season.  This year, the FedEx call center selected the Central Arizona Shelter Services (CASS), a shelter that has moved life forward for countless men, women and children who are homeless by providing emergency shelter, and services. CASS provides a solid foundation, affording each homeless citizen a hand up verses a hand out.

FedEx Freight Assists FEMA

During the Iowa floods in the summer of 2008, FedEx Freight took action to assist FEMA in delivering water to the residents affected by the flooding.  The following video was made by FEMA and was made available to the FedEx Blog.  FEMA has recognized the local FedEx Freight team members for their commitment to helping their community.
