It’s hard for many to believe that there are so many people in the United States who go hungry. After all, we’re the richest nation on earth. But hunger pangs are a reality for 36 million Americans, and 12 million of those are children. And regardless of what country you live in, there’s no need more basic than food. That’s why FedEx team members around the country are joining me to help fight hunger this September during Hunger Action Month, a nationwide effort to motivate local action to end hunger.

Feeding the Hungry During Tough Times

America is known as the land of plenty. But for 1 in 8 Americans, hunger is a reality. Over the past year, food banks have struggled with a drop in donations while demand has increased by 30%. A recent study found that 36 million Americans, including 12 million children, are living on the brink of hunger and many people who once donated to food banks now find themselves on the receiving end of food bank services.
