July 21st is a landmark day in the FedEx Express effort to bring hybrid technology to the world of commercial vehicles.  About 9 months ago we recognized an opportunity existed to expand our hybrid fleet by converting existing vehicles to this fuel and emissions saving technology.  The conversion of existing long life medium duty vehicles originally manufactured by Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) enabled us to bring more hybrid trucks to the road than if we purchased new hybrid trucks.  At the same time, we were able to give older, less fuel efficient trucks a new life.  I ho retrofittrucks.jpg
