All week long the FedEx Citizenship blog has been bringing information on the ground breaking retro-fitted hybrid truck movement from Charlotte, NC to San Francisco and Los Angeles. There are only a handful of things that are as American as a good ol’ road trip. Clark Griswold made family road trips famously funny. My dad made road trips famously copasetic. Clark had the station wagon, my dad had a Dodge Caravan.This summer I get my own unique travel vehicle: a FedEx retro-fitted hybrid delivery truck. In total, 92 trucks were retro-fitted in Charlotte, NC by Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) and Eaton Corporation will move across the U.S. to San Francisco and Los Angeles along Interstate 40.

It's iconic and a staple of many children's school days. From the hippie bus driver in the front to the elite section in the back, school buses have been an essential part of many people's educational experience. However, communities from as far as Italy to cities here in the U.S. are re-thinking the bus (or car) as the only way to get to school. Is the school bus going the way of lunchroom soda machines?
Is the Overnight Envelope Anti-Green?

At the recent Fortune Brainstorm: Green conference, the subject of the famous FedEx overnight envelope came up. One of my fellow panelists said he was surprised to still see those envelopes, implying that the contents could easily be transmitted electronically, and that somehow this service was environmentally "wasteful."
He made me realize how easy it is for people to make the wrong assumptions or hold on to outdated ones.
