As Senior Vice President of International Marketing for FedEx, Subramaniam guides the company’s marketing plans and new service opportunities abroad and manages the international customer experience. A self-proclaimed “Citizen of the World,” Subramaniam believes strongly in the possibilities of globalization. He also understands the complex and shifting dynamics caused by the explosive growth of economies around the world. The company benefits substantially from his broad outlook and comprehensive understanding of the international theater. Prior to assuming his current position in June 2006, Subramaniam held management positions as President of FedEx Express in Canada and Vice President of Marketing and Communications in Asia. In each capacity, he has proven his commitment to building the brand worldwide. In 2006, Subramaniam received the 2006 EXCEL award for excellence in communications from the International Association of Business Communicators and the President’s Award from the Indo-Canadian Chamber of Commerce. He currently serves on the Conference Board of Canada, the Board of the Toronto Film Festival and the Advisory Board for the American Chamber of Commerce. Subramaniam was born in Trivandrum, India. He received his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from The Indian Institute of Technology. He went on to earn two post-graduate degrees – a Masters in Chemical Engineering from Syracuse University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
